Biasanya anda masih sedar.
Bukan semua penyempitan memerlukan stent.
Wayar halus melepasi kawasan sempit.
Belon dikeluarkan, tetapi stent kekal.

Maklumkan alahan anda.
Jangan hentikan pencair darah sendiri.
Pemeriksaan jantung mungkin termasuk pemeriksaan darah beku.
Selepas pemeriksaan, kateter dikeluarkan.
Teruskan ubat.
Pencair darah masih diperlukan selepas ablasi, kadangkala berpanjangan mengikut
risiko strok, walaupun irama bertambah baik.
Risikonya termasuk pendarahan, kecederaan salur darah, jangkitan, strok dan, jarang
sekali, kematian.
semakin sedikit.
Fibrilasi atrium boleh berulang.
Rawatan lanjut mungkin diperlukan.

Perentak jantung membantu apabila jantung terlalu perlahan.
Ciri respons kadar meningkatkan kadar rangsangan semasa aktiviti.
Jika anda memerlukan rangsangan atrium, terapi penyelarasan jantung atau
defibrilator, sistem lain mungkin diperlukan.
Risikonya termasuk pendarahan, kecederaan salur darah, gangguan irama, jangkitan,
Apabila bateri habis, pilihan rawatan dinilai semula.

Micra
Micra AV2
Micra

A pacemaker helps when the heart beats too slowly
because its electrical system is not working properly.
Micra is a tiny pacemaker placed inside the right lower chamber of the heart.
It needs no device pocket under the skin of the chest and no pacing lead running from the chest into the heart.
Who might benefit?
Micra may suit selected patients with advanced or complete heart block or atrial fibrillation with a slow heartbeat.
Micra VR2 may also suit symptomatic sinus node dysfunction,
including slow fast rhythm syndrome when a conventional dual chamber pacemaker is difficult, high-risk, or unnecessary.
Micra AV2 senses upper chamber movement to help coordinate pacing in selected
patients with heart block.
Coordination varies with activity and heart rate.
Neither model paces the upper chamber.
Patients needing atrial pacing, cardiac resynchronization, or a defibrillator may need another system.
Rate-responsive pacing can increase the paced heart rate during activity.
How is it implanted?
Local anesthetic numbs the groin, with additional anesthesia or sedation tailored to you.
Using imaging,
the doctor usually guides a catheter through a groin vein, up into the right atrium, and through the tricuspid
valve into the right ventricle.
The device is secured to the heart muscle with small flexible tines.
The team tests its attachment and electrical performance before releasing it.
The catheter is removed and the groin access site is closed.
What are the risks?
Risks include groin bleeding or blood vessel injury, abnormal rhythms, infection, clots,
device movement or problems with pacing.
Heart wall injury can cause bleeding around the heart, requiring urgent drainage or surgery.
Rarely complications can be life threatening.
Another procedure may be needed if the device does not work as intended.
Later, some patients need a different pacing system.
Battery depletion also requires a further treatment decision.
After implantation, your team checks your rhythm, device and groin wound and explains
wound care, activity limits and follow-up.
Regular device checks remain important.
Micra is not suitable for everyone.
Your cardiologist will assess your heart rhythm, heart function, and individual needs and discuss the
benefits, risks, and alternatives with you.

In normal sinus rhythm, electrical signals coordinate a regular heartbeat.
In atrial fibrillation, or AF, the upper chambers quiver with disorganised electrical activity, and the pulse becomes irregular.
This can cause a racing or fluttering heartbeat, breathlessness and tiredness.
One treatment is pulsed field ablation, which aims to reduce these episodes and symptoms.
Ablation may be offered early, or when rhythm medicines are ineffective or unsuitable.
Your specialist will assess your AF type, health and available treatment options.
Follow your hospital’s fasting and medication instructions.
Tell the team about medicines and allergies.
Do not stop blood thinners yourself.
Blood tests and heart imaging may include checks for clots.
Under general anaesthesia, a thin catheter enters a groin vein and travels to the right atrium.
The catheter then passes through a small opening made between the upper chambers, into the left atrium.
Here, a basket-and-flower catheter is positioned at the pulmonary-vein openings.
Brief electrical pulses disrupt targeted heart-cell membranes, without heat or freezing.
This electrically isolates the pulmonary veins, while keeping them open for blood flow.
The team checks electrical isolation, then removes the thin tubes.
After monitoring, many people go home the same day or after an overnight stay.
Mild soreness, bruising or temporary palpitations can occur.
Follow your recovery instructions.
Continue prescribed medicines.
Blood thinners are needed after ablation, sometimes long term, according to your stroke risk, even when your rhythm improves.
Risks include bleeding or vessel injury, infection, bleeding around the heart causing dangerous pressure, called tamponade, stroke, and rarely death.
Other possible complications include coronary artery spasm.
Red blood cell breakdown can cause kidney injury.
Call your local emergency number for severe chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, stroke symptoms or uncontrolled bleeding.
Contact your treating team urgently for dark urine or reduced urination.
The irregular rhythm can return, and further treatment may be needed.
Discuss your personal benefits, risks and alternatives with your specialist.

Angiogram and angioplasty

A coronary angiogram shows the arteries supplying your heart.
This video explains the test, and how balloon angioplasty and a stent may be used to treat a narrowing.
The heart muscle needs its own blood supply.
Coronary arteries run over the surface of the heart and deliver oxygen to the muscle.
The main branches are the right coronary artery, the left anterior descending artery, or LAD, and the left circumflex artery.
Cholesterol and other material can collect within the artery wall, forming plaque.
A growing plaque can restrict blood flow.
If a plaque ruptures, a blood clot may cause a heart attack.
You lie on an X-ray table while your heart rhythm and blood pressure are monitored.
The skin is cleaned, and local anaesthetic numbs the access site.
You are usually awake.
A small puncture is made in the radial artery at the wrist.
A short access wire guides a plastic sheath into the artery.
The small plastic sheath stays in place as an entry port for the catheter.
A catheter passes through the sheath, along the arteries of the arm, and into the aorta.
Under X-ray guidance, its tip is positioned at the opening of a coronary artery.
Contrast is injected through the catheter.
X-ray images show the outline of the coronary arteries and any narrowing.
Different views help the cardiologist assess the arteries.
Not every narrowing needs a stent.
Depending on the findings, treatment may involve medicines, PCI, or bypass surgery.
When appropriate and agreed with you, PCI may follow the angiogram.
For PCI, a guiding catheter supports the procedure.
A very fine wire passes through the narrowed segment and stays beyond it.
Balloons and stents travel over this wire.
A small balloon is advanced over the wire and inflated at the narrowing.
This stretches the artery and presses the plaque outward.
The balloon is then deflated and withdrawn.
A stent is delivered over the same wire, mounted on a deflated balloon.
It is carefully positioned to cover the narrowed segment.
Inflating the balloon expands the stent against the artery wall.
Most stents used today release medication to reduce excessive tissue growth within the treated segment.
The balloon is deflated and removed.
The stent stays permanently inside the artery, supporting the treated area.
The wire is removed after the result has been checked.
More X-ray images check blood flow and the treated artery.
Additional balloon inflation or imaging inside the artery may be used when needed.
The catheter and sheath are removed.
A compression band helps stop bleeding at the wrist.
Your team monitors your recovery and gives advice about wound care and returning to activities.
Antiplatelet medicines help prevent a clot inside the stent.
Do not stop them without speaking to your cardiologist.
Cholesterol treatment, stopping smoking, healthy eating, and cardiac rehabilitation remain important.
Possible complications include bleeding, artery injury, contrast reactions, and kidney problems.
Serious complications, including heart attack or stroke, are uncommon but can occur.
Your cardiologist will discuss your individual risks.
An angiogram diagnoses the problem.
PCI can improve blood flow when it is the right treatment.
Please ask your cardiologist any questions before your procedure.
